Sales enablement pricing

While using the public cloud for software sales demos, PoCs or user conferences is very beneficial and cost-effective, the model might be unfamiliar to sales engineers trying to assess the cost of running their VMware based application in the cloud.

For example, an application of a virtual firewall consists of:

  • Virtual firewall (1 vCPU, 1GB RAM, 30GB RAM storage)
  • 2 Linux VMs (2 vCPUs, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage each)

Ravello prices the entire application as a whole, in this case:

  • 1 + 2*2 = 5 vCPUs
  • 1 + 2*2 = 5GB RAM
  • 30 + 2*16 = 62GB storage

The hourly compute price of the application is $0.42. The hourly volume storage price is $0.02. There is an additional $0.12/GB/month library cost. For this application this cost will be up to monthly $7.44 in library cost (in the scenario where all 62GB storage provisioned are used).
